My Space

I do most of my own art work during the summer and as a treat  here is a tour of my space.

What is space like?

Perzi

Have you used Prezis in your classroom or art room? If not you are missing the fun. It is like PowerPoint but much more cool and interactive. You can zoom in and out, flip things in and out in any direction, put text into text, add video and audio clips with ease, and much much more. Prezis keeps students more engaged than PowerPoint No offense, but a PowerPoint is like an 80′s movie compared to a modern high speed roller coaster. Don’t just take my word for it, try it yourself. The following link has a very good Prezis about the elements of art, which I am planning on using with my students next year. Yes, you can use other people’s Prezis as well as creating our own.

Intro to the Elements of Art

Art Education Philosophy

There are so many Art and Arts Advocacy videos out there and here is one that expresses the philosophy of art education.

What is your Art Education philosophy?

Performance of an Artist

One of the greatest experiences you can have is view a visual artist performing his craft. Unlike musicians, dancers and actors, visual artists rarely perform in front of an audiences. When you get the opportunity to do so, jump on it. It is an inspiring experience. To give my students that experience I love to invite artists in to my classroom or show them videos like Amy Shackleton video below. Gives them an understanding that artists are people and art is more than a pretty picture on the wall.

Artist Talk

Which artist would you like to follow you around?
