Transforming a school through the power of the Arts.

As an Arts Educator I truly believe in the power of the arts to help students to learn and stay in school. Here is an example of that power in action.

This school is a good example of why we need to turn STEM into STEAM. What do you think?

Turn STEM into STEAM

The Arts have a very important role in student learning and success in school and life. Even though the arts make STEM possible, many educational gurus believe and support STEM to improve student learning while leaving the arts in the dust. Without the arts there is no steam to make STEM go, in my heart I believe it is time to turn STEM into STEAM. What do you think?

Becoming Van Gogh

The recent exhibition on at the Denver Art Museum “Becoming Van Gogh” will be the inspiration for my students as they are learning, studying, interpreting and evaluating Van Gogh through his letters and his art over the next few months. To kick off this exciting project I am sharing a video from the Denver Art Museum that was posted on their Facebook Page.

Music Integration

I love to integrate music in my lessons and I have a great way to do it (Music Paintings). This project can be a collaboration project with the music teachers.

Here are a couple of examples of Music Paintings.
